Lost *Open*

"Yes," she said giggling, "What guards do I have here?" she asked as she opened the door to her room, "None of my guards who left me are here."

Azrael chuckled and followed her, "I wasn't talking about your guards. I meant the prince's guards. I doubt many demons would be happy to see me here."

"And you think that they much like the fact that I'm here?" she asked laughing lightly, "Or the fact that the prince is infatuated with me?" she sat down on a chair in the room and smiled.

Azrael raised his eyebrows, "The prince is what?! Now you do attract some strange people, dear Christy! A vampire and a half demon! Who'd have thought!!"

"Whats that supposed to mean?" she asked looking at him curiously, "And there more than you realize to that." she said frowing, "He and I were engaged at one point in time. He and I are too different to of made anything work. I'm happy now though." she said smiling brightly.

Azrael just chuckled and shook his head, "Nothing, nothing at all. I'm surprised that your mother allowed you to be engaged to a half demon. I would have thought you were traditonalists." He smiled and looked at her, "I am glad you are happy, because i am too. The happiest i've been in a long time."

"My mother and most of the fae are." she replied smiling, "They think that the fae will be tainted but its not the first time something like that has happened, to keep peace." she sighed, "Though something most people don't know about fae is that you have to concieve a child before you can marry, atleast thats how it is in my case and the case of the fae nobility, that way they can keep the bloodline going."

Azrael raised his eyebrows, "I didn't know that. In most cases you are meant to marry before you have a child. It's odd that it should be the other way around for you. And what happens if you don't decide to have children? I guess that isn't an option...."

"Not for me." she replied, "But I have a while before I should worry about having children, since I will remain young for a long while." she said smiling, "Since fae are also immortal."

Azrael smiled, "Well lucky us then..." he said, sarcasticly. "I can't imagine living for eternity, doesn't that just seem impossible to you? Although knowing me i will probably die in some battle at some point."

"Sometimes I wish I was a brownie." she replied sighing, "They are the only ones who will at somepoint die."

Azrael smiled, "Well maybe we should be grateful for our immortality. Not many people get to say they can live forever. Although personally, i will definetly not be living that long!"

"And what makes you say that?" she asked curiously. "Though once I take the throne my mother will wither away and die, I think she's ready though. She misses my father a lot." she said looking down at the floor.

Azrael stroked her shoulder, comfortingly, "Well to be honest compared to a lot of vampires, I've seen a lot of blood and slaughter. I think there will come a time when the nightmares and faces will become too much for me. And then i will probably seek out a leader of a werewolf pack and make a few 'mistakes' as i fight. That's about the only way we can die. Or i could sit out in the sun for too long."

"You should be beaten by someone truely better than you, otherwise what would be the point." she said looking at him, "Don't make mistakes because you want to lose, make them because they are truely better than you."

Azrael chuckled, "Yes, i guess that is a more honourable [spl] way to die. At the hands of someone who is a better fighter." He smiled, "I know just the person."

"And who would that be?" she asked looking at him curiously.

Azrael smiled, bitterly, "The wolf who killed my father, Samael Broeth." He looked down at the ground as th memories of that night flooded into his mind.

"I'm sorry." she said realizing she brought up unwanted memories.

Azrael looked up at her, "No it's ok. It was a long time ago...It's not as painful as it used to be to talk about it."

"Are you sure?" she asked concern in her voice. "I don't want to bring up anything you don't want to talk about."

Azrael smiled, "No it's fine. I know that if i found him then he would be able to kill me easily. I've been hunting him for so long, since it happened, and yet i have never found him. He's out there somewhere, and i know he is waiting for me. It's only a matter of time."

"Please don't." she said looking at him through her tri colored eyes. "I'm not ready for you to go yet."

Azrael smiled and storked her cheek with a long pale finger, "It's ok, i have no need to find him. The nightmares haven't been as bad since i met you." He smiled and kissed her lips gently, "In fact everything has been much better."

She kissed him back and blushed, "My world has seemed a lot brighter since you came." she replied smiling, "I'm glad you no longer have need to."
